Northrop Grumman getting ready to showcase Global Security Capabilities at the Farnborough Air Show 2010



Northrop Grumman Corporation will highlight its industry leading global security capabilities at the Farnborough International Air Show, including unmanned aircraft systems, defense electronics and performance-based logistics.

The Farnborough International Airshow will take place from 19-25 July 2010.

Northrop Grumman's open-air static display area will feature a full-scale model of the Global Hawk high altitude long endurance unmanned aircraft system (UAS) and a full-sized model of the MQ-8B Fire Scout Vertical Unmanned Aircraft System (VUAS). Fire Scout is a multi-role UAS that can carry various payloads, which provide unprecedented situational awareness and precision targeting support, ideal for land and navy forces.

The company's Italian subsidiary will also be represented at the air show at stand location H1/D16f. Northrop Grumman Italia will display its state-of-the-art fiber-optic navigation systems, including the LISA-200, the Navex family of attitude heading reference systems and LN 251 / LN 270 high accuracy inertial navigation systems and the newly developed Navinex inertial navigation system. Aircraft equipped with Northrop Grumman Italia systems include the Eurofighter Typhoon and many other fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft in service in various parts of the world.

Northrop Grumman will participate in a series of media briefings during the air show covering a range of its capabilities, including unmanned systems, defense electronics, C4ISR, sustainment and life cycle optimization and engineering. The outline media briefing program is as shown below. All briefings will be held in the Northrop Grumman Media Centre.

In addition, during the air show Northrop Grumman will formally present a DIRCM transmitter to the Royal Air Force Museum to mark the 15th anniversary of the UK Ministry of Defence development contract undertaken by SELEX Galileo and Northrop Grumman to develop and produce the first ever, life-saving infrared countermeasures technology widely used on RAF aircraft in combat today.
