First C-27J Delivered to Morocco

Finmeccanica unit Alenia Aeronautica delivered on July 7 the first of four C-27J tactical transport aircraft ordered by Morocco, a source knowledgeable of the deal said.

Morocco placed its order, valued at about 130 million euros ($163.8 million) in September 2008, becoming Alenia's first non-NATO C-27J customer.

Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Romania and the U.S. have ordered the C-27J, which has also been selected by Slovakia.

To date, Alenia has delivered 34 aircraft, including 12 to Italy and 10 to Greece.
